If you would like to do some Flounder or Sea Bass fishing this spring give me a call to set a date before the best days are gone.

The Weather broke this past weekend and we got to fish. On Saturday we heard of some Bluefin tuna caught earlier in the week at 26 Mile Hill so we headed that way a little before 6:00 am. It was a beautiful day on the water dead calm and just a couple of other boats on the hill. We fished there until noon and had some luck getting 2 nice Bluefin but the rules had changed the first of the month to 1 fish over 47 inches per boat and both of ours we 37 inches so they went back. We heard of several other tuna being caught but none were big enough so we headed to the Wrecks to try a little Sea Basing and this turned out to be a lot of fun about ever 3rd fish we caught a Blue Fish would bite it off. We brought several to the top of the water but did not boat any Blues but we got several nice Sea Bass. On Sunday we had a Charter of just 2 people that wanted to catch some Sea Bass and they did just that. They keep my mate busy all day taking fish off and baiting hooks there was not a lot of big sea bass but they caught several hundred of them keeping nice mess. They also had  6 trigger fish with 2 of them almost citation size and we had several Flounder with one reel nice one. Cant wait to get out again
The Tuna fishing is about over for this year but there is still a lot of good fishing to do with Sea Bass, Flounder and big Blue fish at the inshore wrecks and the Rock Fish (Stripers) That are starting to be caught around the inlet

So if you would like to go fishing, give me a call and we can do some fishing

The Weather just does not want to cooperate on the days that I am going fishing. There were a few boats that got out a couple days during the week and had some good luck there were Yellow fin Tuna caught at the Canyons and a report of Bluefin on the Hills and some reel good Sea Bass fishing along with some Flounder and Tog at the Wrecks. I hope to have a personal report this weekend if I can get out.
The Yellow fin fishing is about over but there should be some Bluefin Tuna for a while along with Sea Bass, Flounder and big Blue fish and the Rock Fish (Stripers) should be moving in

So if you would like to go fishing, give me a call and we can do some fishing

rope.jpg (5188 bytes)

I would like to thank Mr. Keefer for the E-mail reminding me about the Fishing report page that I have not being updated.    The reason for the lack of reports is because wind has blown or storms have been here since Labor Day and I have only been able to get out 1 of my Charter trips since then but I will to keep the page updated and let every body know what everyone has been doing and we should be catching.

On the day we did get out we got some tuna and the Yellow fin should be around through October and the big Bluefin around the Scallop boats could be around longer than that. The Sea bass are at the inshore wrecks but I don’t know of anybody that has fished for them lately but they should be there good from now till December. In November when the water starts cooing the Stripers should start moving down the coast and we can start catching them and that will last until sometime in January until the water gets to cold.

So if you would like to go fishing, give me a call and if Mother Nature will let us we can do some fishing
The Weather forecast for this week is small craft advisory until Monday the 17

Over the past 2 weeks there has not been many nice days to fish the weather has been a big problem. But when we can get Offshore the Fishing is still good with a lot yellow Fin and some Dolphin being caught, The Bluefin bite has slowed but the Fall run of large Bluefin should start at any time

The Flounder fishing has slowed inside the Sound with the Croakers eating your bait before the Flounder have a chance, but there are some large Flounder coming off of the wrecks near shore.

The next few months should be great for fishing, with the Yellow Fin bite staying good and even getting better on through October and the large Bluefin Tuna fishing should be turning on, plus the Wreck fishing will be getting great with Sea Bass, Flounder and large Blue Fish and dont forget the Rockfish (Stripers)will be here in November

I have still got a few good open dates, So give me a call and we can reserve you a date for your next Great Fishing Adventurerope.jpg (5188 bytes) 8/25/05- Capt. Frank

The Offshore Fishing is still going strong, The Bluefin bite has slowed but they are still being caught and Yellow Fin are starting to school up and there were some nice catches made over the weekend with some boats coming early with there limit. There is still a King Mackerel bite at 26 mile hill that continues.  And there are still a lot of Billfish being caught

The Flounder fishing is still good with some large Flounder coming off of the wrecks near shore, and the Croakers have moved in and there are plenty of them around and they can be a lot of fun for the people that don’t want to go offshore.

In the Chick Charter Tournament Class Act was first with a 51 pound Yellow Fin. We did not place in the Tournament but the Lady’s had a great time catching a nice mess of Tuna and Dolphin.

I have still got a few good open dates, So give me a call and we can reserve you a date for your next Great Fishing Adventure

The Offshore Fishing is still right good, The Bluefin bite has slowed but they are still being caught and Yellow Fin have scattered and are a little harder to fine but they are still being caught. There still is a reel good King Mackerel bite at 26 mile hill that continues.  This has been a great year for Billfish with a lot of White and Blue Marlin seen and caught from the 20 fathom line to the Canyons.

The Flounder fishing is still reel good for this time of year, and the Croakers have moved in and there are plenty of them around and they can be a lot of fun for the people that don’t want to go offshore.

The Chick Charter Tournament is this Sunday and this is a great time where all the boats in the tournament take only Lady’s fishing I will post the results next week.

Summer is coming to an end but not the fishing. The 2 best months for Tuna fishing can be September and October. And Sea Bass fishing will be getting great at the end of September on in to December and don’t forget the Rock Fish (Striper) fishing that starts in November and runs up in to January. So you still have plenty time to go fishing. So give me a call and we can reserve you a date for your next Great Fishing Adventure

The Offshore Fishing is going strong, with Bluefin and Yellow Fin being caught from 26 mile hill to the Washington Canyon. And there was 850 pound Bluefin tuna caught off O.C. There has been a lot of Bluefin caught over 100 pounds at the 20 fathom line, and there are a lot of the tuna in the 20 to 50 pound class being caught on the Hills and out towards the Canyons. There has been several White and Blue Marlin seen and caught from the 20 fathom line to the Canyons. There were some nice Dolphin caught over the weekend with a 32 pound being caught at 26 mile hill. And there is still a lot of Big Bluefish. We caught a 60 pound Mako Shark Saturday and there was one estimated to be 200 pounds lost at the boat on another charter boat that ruined 2 of his gaffs.

Well the Sea Bass fishing is still doing very well. I did not fish for them in the past week or so but seen several boats that had a nice catch of fish and the Spade fish have moved in. The Flounder fishing has been fair to slow, but the Croaker are moving in and they can be a lot of fun for the people that don’t want to go offshore.

Next week is the Eastern Shore Marlin Club Tournament Starting on 7/21 evening with a Seafood and Pig Roast then 3 days of fishing followed on Monday by the awards banquet and another Seafood dinner. I will try to post the results as soon as I can

I have still got a few good open dates, So give me a call and we can reserve you a date for your next Great Fishing Adventure

The Offshore Fishing has started with Bluefin and Yellow Fin being caught from 26 mile hill to the Washington Canyon and an estimated 700 pound Blue Marlin was released in the Canyon on 6/25. There were a few nice Bluefin caught up to 85 pounds but most of the tuna were smaller 20 to 30 pound class but it wont be long before the big Bluefin move in. There was some nice Dolphin caught over the weekend to And there is all the Big Bluefish you want from the 26 Mile Hill to the Washington Canyon (first time I have seen that Bluefish in the Canyon)

Well the Sea Bass fishing is still doing very well. I took Mr. Martin and his friends from Lynchburg Sea Bass fishing on 6/18 and they had great time catching a mess of Sea Bass to 4 lbs and then we came in the inlet and made one drift for Flounder and caught 3 keepers. I also had a group on 6/25 that have been coming to Wachapreague every year for 33 years these gentlemen new how to fish and did right well with a nice catch of Sea Bass and I had several other trips in the last couple weeks and they all produced good numbers of Sea Bass.
The Flounder fishing has been fair to good and some times bad. but on 6/26 I took Tom and Susan Clark on a ½ day Flounder fishing trip and they caught a nice mess of fish with one being 5 pounds 10 oz.
So give me a call and we can reserve a date for you for your next Great Fishing Adventur

Well the Sea Bass fishing is still going strong. I suppose the cold spring that has kept the water cold is helping with the Sea Bass bite. I took Mr. Gordon and his son ( who is one of our brave soldiers that just got back from Iraq) and his buddies out Sea Bass fishing this past week and I never seen a group of fellers have such a great time, they were carrying on about one thing or the other all day. It was a beautifully day on the ocean and the Sea Bass keep them busy all day. We had one talented fisherman on the boat he held the rod in one hand and use the other hand to get his beer then he opened his beer with his teeth he did not want to put the rod down because he might miss a bite.
The Flounder fishing has been fair to good, some days you get 20 keepers then other you fish all day for 5 or 6
The Offshore Fishing is getting started with a report of Tuna at the Norfolk Canyon and there are loads of Bluefish at the 26 Mile Hill so the Blue Fin Tuna want be far behind.
Give me a call and we can reserve a date for you for your next Fishing Adventure

The weather has turned around for us, and the past couple of weekends have been right nice. We have been doing some Flounder and Sea Bass fishing with some fairly good results, The Flounder fishing has had some good and some not as good days but we still caught fish on the not so good days and the Sea Bass fishing is really heating up with a lot of 3 to 4 pound fish being caught. There was a good catch of large Bluefish at 26 Mile Hill this past weekend so it should not be long before the Bluefin Tuna show up and if we can get some warm water to come into the Canyon’s the Yellow fin and Dolphin will be here.
Give me a call and we can reserve a date for you for your next Fishing Adventure

Well the weather this spring has be terrible it has been a very cold and wet spring, Unless you could fish Monday or Tuesday every time I have wanted to go fishing until this weekend it has been cold windy or raining.
The Flounder fishing has been good for the most part this spring when the weather was nice but the Sea Bass were late to show up but they are here now.
We got out Friday to do some Sea Bass fishing but it was very cold for the 13th of May and the wind was blowing right good to, but the Sea Bass were there. We did not fish but for about one hour and had close to 30 nice Sea Bass but it was tough on the anglers and they wanted to go in and try for some flounder. The weather was not much better inshore I had the heater going wide open all day but we did catch some flounder. On Saturday the 14th I had another Sea bass party but when they showed up 5:30 the wind was blowing 20 Knots and it was calling for 10 to 20 all day they decided to come back another day. On Sunday the 15th we had a Flounder trip and the weather was a little better the wind was rough in the morning but calmed down by lunch time for the rest of the day. The water was stirred up in the morning and fishing was tough we had only a few fish before lunch but in the afternoon things changed and the Flounder turned on and the party had a great time we even caught 2 at a one time.
I will try to start posting a fishing report every week, the Flounder fishing will be good for a while and the Sea Bass have moved in and there should be some good fishing for the next month and within the next few weeks the Offshore fishing should heat up just as soon as some warm water shows up off the coast.

Well last weekend 3/27-3/28 I worked on the boat all weekend, painting the bottom and waxing the sides and all the spring time maintenance. It turned out to be a good weekend to do this because either the wind was blowing 30 MPH or it was raining, but there were Flounder caught earlier that week when the weather was a lot nicer.
This weekend 4/1-4/3 I had planned to do some Flounder fishing from my small boat and we got about 3 hours of fishing in Friday before the weather turned bad. We caught 12 Flounder with 4 being keepers up to 21 inches. The rest of the weekend was a washout we did not wet a line again. A boat did go out for Tog on Friday but did not have any luck; it seems that the water temperature is still to cold.
Fishing should really pick up in the next few weeks once the water warms up and weather calms down Flounder, Sea Bass and Tog should be biting good

rope.jpg (5188 bytes)

3/22/05- Capt. Frank
Flounder season open the first of March but with the cool weather we have been having they are slow to start biting. But it will not be long if we can get a few warm days in a row they will start feeding. So about the time Spring fever hits you it will hitting the Flounder, Sea Bass and Tog-Tog. So when you are ready to go fishing give me a call and we can help you along with that spring fever.
